Anthony Shavies began working with young basketball players at Missouri State Bears summer basketball camp during his playing career at Missouri State University. After graduating and beginning his professional basketball career, Shavies decided to continue coaching in the summers during his off-season. Shavies’ first team was The Missouri Flight, a team that included two current division one basketball players (Timothy Huskisson – Northen Colorado, Christian Kirk – Missouri State) and several other college athletes. Shavies continued coaching youth basketball, and was part of a COC championship staff at Nixa High School in 2009 while briefly retiring from playing. Shavies has coached and played on every level (high school, college, professional) and brings several years experience to the sidelines for Missouri Basketball Academy.
Shavies has played professionally in Austria, Germany and Ukraine, winning multiple championships and individual awards in the process.
